About Paternoster Photo

Hello! My name is John Paternoster, and I am a photographer raised in Melbourne Beach, Florida. My journey into photography began in 2022 when I brought a camera into a Los Angeles Angels game in Anaheim — a simple decision that sparked something much bigger. From that moment on, I was hooked on capturing the intensity, emotion, and atmosphere that make sports unforgettable.

I am a graduate of the University of Florida, where I had the opportunity to work with the University Athletic Association’s photography department. During my time at UF, I photographed a wide range of sports and major events, learning to anticipate moments, work under pressure, and tell compelling visual stories at the highest level of collegiate athletics.

From 2024 to 2025, I served as the team photographer for the Florida Gators baseball. In that role, I traveled across the country with the team, documenting everything from intense conference matchups to the unforgettable atmosphere of the College World Series. Being embedded with the team gave me a deep appreciation for the preparation, resilience, and emotion behind every game.

I also had the privilege of photographing the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon — a stage where the nation’s best athletes compete at the highest level. Capturing championship moments on that platform reinforced my passion for documenting excellence in motion.

My work is driven by authenticity, timing, and connection. Whether it’s the intensity of competition or the quiet focus before it begins, I aim to create photographs that preserve not just how a moment looked, but how it felt.

Thank you for being here. I am excited to share my work with you!
